BALT & C20 Society 2023 Webinar Series - Part 2 lecture
The second lecture of the British Architectural Library Trust and the UK Twentieth Century Society, 2023 webinar series titled “From Portland Stone to Reinforced Concrete: English Architecture 1900-1940” is scheduled for February 23 at 5PM GMT.
The lecture is presented by David Frazer Lewis, an architectural historian of 19th and 20th century Britain, and an Associate Professor at the University of Oxford.
The talk titled "Giles Gilbert Scott and the Definition of Modernity Between the Wars" will explore what made Scott’s architecture stand out from that of his contemporaries and allowed him to create buildings that seemed both modern and familiar.
