Talking at Croydon High School
Last week Laura was invited to give a talk at Croydon High School in south London as part of the Careers for Girls series.
In the Assembly Hall she talked to 200 girls ranging from 4 to 10 years old about what being an architect means, talking about her career and the buildings she has built around the world in 25 years of practice.
The girls were smart, attentive and engaged, answering questions that Laura asked the audience surprisingly well.
Following the talk an activity was carried out with the girls from years 5 and 6; sketches and models were produced in an hour long design session and were presented and judged at the end.
In the winning team, four out of the five girls wanted to be architects!
