"Midland Metropolitan University Hospital by HKS, Cagni Williams and Sonnemann Toon Architects" Metalocus
"Midland Metropolitan University Hospital (MMUH) designed by HKS, Cagni Williams and Sonnemann Toon Architects is located in the English town of Smethwick in the West Midlands county. The new hospital represents a landmark development and a vehicle for growth in this area, between Birmingham and Sandwell.
MMUH offers a new model of care that encourages patient mobility, independence and wellbeing through surrounding green spaces, a central winter garden, an accessible roof terrace and quiet, therapeutic spaces to promote healing, relaxation and reflection. Emergency, paediatric, maternity and haematology services are also incorporated with the best facilities to provide the patient with the greatest possible comfort for their recovery.
HKS, Cagni Williams y Sonnemann Toon Architects buscan con este proyecto reunir la atención aguda y de emergencia de dos hospitales separados en un centro centralizado, respaldando la eficiencia operativa y la innovación tecnológica, al tiempo que mejora la experiencia del paciente y combine acute and emergency care from two separate hospitals into one centralised hub, supporting operational efficiency and technological innovation, and Logistics, wayfinding and patient flow are central to the hospital design. The interior has a clear design language, focusing on easily navigable communication hubs. Separate circulation routes are planned for patients, staff and visitors, to enhance privacy, navigation and security. [...] "
