WICE Awards Forum day
A day of celebration for women in construction; this was a fabulous selection of women of all ages with the most varied job roles in the construction industry, encouraged to say how good they are, list their achievements and express passion for their jobs. It is not a common scene, especially in London.
In their daily lives women with jobs in construction at the top of the profession need to be tough, working hard to assert themselves simply to ‘get the job done’ and demand respect for their roles.
Yesterday at the WICE Awards forum day there was a palpable joy of having made it.
All the women in the room where either shortlisted or speakers or judges, pleased that the industry is finally recognising their achievements.
Laura, who is more used to talking about her profession and her projects but less about herself, joined in the infectious joy and celebratory mood in the room.
Irrespective of who wins we certainly all look forward to another exciting event on the 24th of May for the award gala.
