CWenergy’s sustainability expertise was central to transforming a neglected car park in Stratford into a thriving residential community. The CRD project introduced four timber-framed buildings, creating nine apartments surrounded by landscaped courtyards designed to promote biodiversity and social interaction.
The buildings are constructed with cross-laminated timber (CLT), capturing 400 tonnes of CO2 and significantly reducing the project’s carbon footprint. Side-to-side photovoltaic roofs generate renewable energy to meet communal demands, including electric vehicle charging points. The highly insulated structure and use of natural ventilation further minimise operational energy use.
This project demonstrates the potential of sustainable design to enhance urban environments, delivering high-quality housing while contributing to local regeneration. By prioritising environmental responsibility, CW Energy provided a blueprint for future community-based developments.
