House in Earls Court

CWenergy transformed this dated mews house into a modern, energy-efficient retreat. By adding brick-formed structural arches and top-lit lightwells, we created a bright and welcoming interior while preserving the building’s historic character.

The property is powered entirely by sustainable electricity, with electric underfloor heating and efficient natural ventilation systems. Exposed structural elements, including brick arches and polished concrete floors, act as thermal masses, maintaining comfortable temperatures year-round. Roof-mounted solar panels generate renewable energy to power the home and reduce carbon emissions.

This project exemplifies how thoughtful energy strategies can modernise historic properties while enhancing their character and sustainability. The result is a contemporary home designed for long-term comfort and efficiency.
